## About

The Golden Woods is a small forest cottage resort beside the lake at Matkuli, Pachmarhi, where the road to Pachmarhi begins its climb. Cottages stand along a stone pathway under old trees. The swimming pool looks out over open fields to the Satpura hills. Food is cooked fresh in the resort kitchen. Most guests are families and couples who spend the day sightseeing in Pachmarhi and return to the resort in the evening.

## At the resort

- The pool: A curved outdoor pool with a wooden deck, looking out over open fields to the hills, lit after dark.
- Bonfire evenings: On winter evenings we light a fire on the lawn and draw the chairs into a circle.
- Rain shower: A canopy of sprinklers over a dance floor beside the pool: the place to be on a summer afternoon.
- Picnic tables: Wooden tables on the lawn for tea, cards or a slow breakfast.
- Children's play area: Swings, a slide and a garden swing on the grass, close to the cottages.
- Lawns and garden: Wide lawns under old trees, with benches and room to run.
- The dining hall: A bright hall for meals, family gatherings and larger groups.
- Cricket net: A practice net at the edge of the grounds, for anyone who travels with a bat.
